MineSelect Terms of Use

2.1. Catalogue of miners and coins

• MineSelect presents lists of third-party miners, coins and algorithm pairings based on publicly available information and manual curation.
• We may provide profiles, benchmarks or high-level descriptions to help you understand how different miners and coins relate to each other.

2.2. No mining, wallet or pool service

• MineSelect does not run mining code in your browser or on your devices.
• MineSelect does not operate wallets, take custody of funds, or manage your payouts.
• MineSelect does not operate mining pools or validate blocks on any network.

2.3. Outbound links

MineSelect includes links to external resources (e.g., GitHub repositories, project sites, documentation). These links are provided for convenience only. We do not control, endorse or guarantee the content, security or availability of external sites or binaries.

3.1. Age

You must be at least the age of majority in your place of residence to use MineSelect for decisions related to mining or digital assets. If you are under that age, you may only use the site with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

3.2. Local legal requirements

• You are responsible for ensuring that accessing MineSelect and using any miners or pools you discover is legal in your jurisdiction.
• Some jurisdictions may restrict or prohibit mining, use of certain algorithms, or participation in particular networks. MineSelect does not check or enforce your local legal requirements.

4.1. No investment or profitability guarantees

• Any profitability examples, estimates, benchmarks or comparisons presented on MineSelect are illustrative only and may not reflect current or future conditions.
• Mining returns depend on many external factors, including market prices, network difficulty, pool luck, hardware stability and electricity costs.
• You should not rely on MineSelect as a sole basis for making investment, mining or hardware purchase decisions.

4.2. Independent research

Before running any miner, joining any pool or purchasing hardware, you should perform your own independent research, and consider consulting qualified financial, tax or legal professionals where appropriate.

5.1. No control over third-party software

• Running a miner binary or connecting to a pool is entirely your decision and at your own risk.
• You are responsible for verifying download sources, signatures, checksums and licence terms for any third-party miner you choose to run.
• MineSelect does not modify third-party miner binaries or inject additional dev fees on top of what the original authors define.

5.2. External websites

We are not responsible for the content, uptime, policies or security of any external website or service linked from MineSelect. Visiting external sites is at your own risk. You should review their own terms and policies before using them.

6.1. Compliance with law

• You must comply with all applicable laws, regulations and third-party agreements when using information from MineSelect and any miners or pools you discover through it.
• You must not use MineSelect to engage in illegal activities, including but not limited to unauthorised access to systems, misuse of computing resources or mining on hardware you do not own or control.

6.2. Technical responsibility

• You are responsible for securing your own devices, operating systems and networks before running any third-party mining software.
• You are responsible for cooling, power delivery, monitoring and physical safety of your mining hardware.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your own wallets, private keys and recovery phrases. MineSelect never needs these and will never ask for them.

7.1. Misuse of the site

• Attempt to disrupt, overload or degrade the performance of MineSelect.
• Use automated tools to scrape, copy or mirror MineSelect at a scale that interferes with normal operation.
• Attempt to circumvent security measures or probe the site for vulnerabilities without explicit, written permission.

7.2. Misrepresentation

• Present MineSelect as an official partner or operator of any miner, coin or pool, unless such a relationship is clearly announced by both sides.
• Use MineSelect’s name, logo or branding in a way that could confuse users about who runs a given miner, wallet or service.

8.1. No warranties

MineSelect is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Fitness for a particular purpose or level of profitability
• Non-infringement of third-party rights
• Accuracy, reliability or completeness of listings and mappings
• Uninterrupted, secure or error-free operation of the site

8.2. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MineSelect and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or hardware, arising out of or in connection with:

• Your use of or inability to use MineSelect
• Your use of any miners, pools, wallets or services discovered via MineSelect
• Any third-party conduct, content or software, including bugs, security flaws or downtime
• Any unauthorised access to or use of your devices, wallets, mining rigs or accounts

Where liability cannot be excluded under applicable law, it will be limited to the fullest extent permitted and, where allowed, to a maximum of one hundred (100) U.S. dollars.

Where required by applicable law, you and MineSelect agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally before resorting to formal proceedings. If a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
